Dear Gator Families,
Although our South Florida weather doesn’t provide us with a feeling of a move towards
pre-fall months, the activities in your homes should reflect the “Back to School” mode.
Whether you as parents are in the classroom or not, you too are going back to school.
The most important task in preparing to return is to get your household back to a schedule
that allows for earlier bedtimes as well as enough time in the morning to eat breakfast and
arrive at school on time. Rushing through the morning routine results in stress for
children as well as adults, so those few extra “snooze” minutes will not be worth starting
the day feeling rushed.
Make sure you speak to your child about procedures for arrival and dismissal at school so
that they understand what is expected in the morning and how they will be getting home
in the afternoon. Spend the first week going through the bookbags so that you are kept
informed with any notices the school needs to send to you. Talk to your children about
their new experiences and help them celebrate the beginning of this grade level.
We wish you as a Gator family a great beginning for this 2010-11 school year. We are
committed to providing your child a great experience.
